and scroll down to the bottom of the page. "TenFourFox for G5
processors" ist the right download for your iMac. You can keep the
old Firefox application on your hard drive. TenFourFox uses the
same user profile as Firefox and will take over your bookmarks,
settings etc. Flash, however, as all plugins, is not supported with
TenFourFox. Since Adobe abandoned PPC Macs, there is no update for
Flash, no matter which browser you use. TenFourFox can play Youtube
videos that are encoded in WebM nativeley, without any plugins
needed.</p></div>Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/176825382012-07-29T22:53:10Z2012-07-29T22:53:10Zwhich one to download<div><p>thank you, chris.</p>
<p>i also have downloaded the Mactubes you suggested.</p>
<p>i really do appreciate this as i thought that i would soon be
faced<br>
with buying a new computer which is not easy for me in this
economy.</p>
<p>i will try all this out tomorrow and hope that it works for
me.</p>
<p>i put down --- no--- as my choice because making a decision was
the<br>
only way to get that question off my desktop.</p>
<p>i do not know what difference it would make having 10.4fx as
my<br>
browser so i just voted with the familiar.</p>

"default browser"? Most web browsers will ask this the first time
they run. The default browser opens automatically e.g. when
clicking on a link in your e-mail application or double clicking an
html file in the Finder. Otherwise, there's no difference. You can
switch the default browser manually: Apple has hidden this function
in the Safari preferences>General.</p></div>Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/176825382012-07-31T04:09:09Z2012-07-31T04:09:09Zwhich one to download<div><p>hi, chris.</p>
<p>sorry to trouble you about this , but i am starting to really
regret<br>
having downloaded 10.4fx . my computer skills are only average and
i<br>
am quite lost at the moment. i need a real step-by-step guide to
the<br>
point where i can use youtube again.</p>
<p>i am also not able to open dr. weil’s videos which is a
great<br>
disappointment. it says 10.4x does not support it...video
unavailable</p>
<p>when i tried to access the AdBlock , etc. that you suggested, it
also<br>
said that it did not support 10.4fx.</p>
<p>i joined 10.4fx to be able to hear videos. i could see them.
now<br>
with10.4 fx i cannot access them at all. they say that 10.4fx does
not<br>
support it. however, since this includes someone’s youtube
video<br>
comparing the visuals for 10.4x and safari with a G5, that defies
logic.</p>
<p>also, i downloaded MacTubes and though it says that i have a 5.8
MB<br>
application, if it is there i do not know how to access it. i
am<br>
only be able to access a blank playlist with a yellow light and
the<br>
manual in eng and japanese.</p>
<p>could this be because i put the following in the trash or is it
ok to<br>
empty the trash with the following in it?, or should i recoup one
or<br>
more ? should i also put adobe in the trash if it is no longer<br>
supported.</p>
<p>thank you in advance for any help which you may be able to
provide. i<br>
followed the 10.4 instructions as best i could.</p>
<p>i already have perian, but do not know how to put it into
quicktime.</p>
<p>best to you,</p>

in TenFourFox, meaning it won't work.</p>
<p>To watch Youtube videos without Flash, 1) go to <a href=
"http://www.youtube.com/html5">www.youtube.com/html5</a> and make
sure you're in the html5 trial. 2) Also read Youtube's hints about
html5 video on the same site. 2) Play your Youtube video.</p>
<p>If your video is only available in h.264 and still doesn't play
in TenFourFox, you can open it with MacTubes (in the MacTubes app,
go to "File>Open Video", then enter the video URL).</p>
<p>The 5.8 MB app <em>is</em> Mactubes. It should be in a folder
calld "MacTubes_v3.1.4". Put the application in your Applications
folder and double click it to start. If you're unsure, re-download
it from <a href=
"http://macapps.sakura.ne.jp/mactubes/index_en.html">http://macapps.sakura.ne.jp/mactubes/index_en.html</a>.
It comes as a zip file; double click that to uncompress.</p>
<p>If you get no audio at all, first make sure computer's audio
settings (volume) are correct, also the volume slider in Youtube
videos.</p>
<p>The things you listed in your trash are all installers, not the
actual Flash players, so it doesn't make a difference if you empty
the trash. To see which version of Flash is installed, open Safari
and in it's Help Menu, click "Installed Plug-ins". If there's a
video that requires Flash and has no html5 alternative, you'll need
to use Safari to watch it.</p>
<p>Perian is not directly involved with video playback on
TenFourFox. To install Perian, double click the Perian_1.2.3.dmg
you downloaded and then double click Perian.prefPane or have a look
at the readme file they provide.</p></div>Chris (chtrusch)
