Add-ons featured in Add-ons Manager
Have results from TenFourFox>Tools>Ad-ons, for available extensions been screened for compatibility with my PPC Mac, (the whole reason I like 10/4/fx)? Or, are these results imported from Mozilla Fire Fox and not necessarily optimal on my older machine?

We do only cursory screening. In general, most, if not all, pure JavaScript-based add-ons will work without changes. Add-ons with binary components will only work if the component is Universal or PowerPC, and on Tiger systems, if they are compiled for 10.4 (for example, Echofon no longer works with TenFourFox because they no longer compile the binary components it requires for PPC). There are too many add-ons to curate all of them with our limited resources, unfortunately, but the good news is most will work without changes.

Thanks. My concerns are primarily based on how running a particular extension might effect performance, (page loading).
Now, since plug-ins are disabled are there options when loading pages with Flash content that allows my machine to ignore or dismiss those types of packages? Or better yet some alternate method to display that content, even marginally. I am aware of my machine limitations hardware wise. It is possible I have missed this issue in FAQ.
Tenderapp offers great support!

The issues over affecting page load performance would not be specific to TenFourFox; they would affect Firefox too. It's a hard question to answer because sometimes combinations of add-ons can be deleterious when no single add-on from that set causes a problem by itself.
With plugins disabled, the page is told the browser doesn't support Flash at all. TED, for example, will offer downloadable movies instead in that circumstance. However, the site must offer alternate content and unfortunately not all of them do.

Thanks. And finally, within Tenderapp or 10/4/fx, discussion or review for add-ons that do enhance or that have been developed specifically for our browser ?

I don't know of any specifically developed for TenFourFox other than the QuickTime Enabler, which will be a part of TenFourFox with version 15. But I have no objection to creating a suggestions thread with curated add-ons that particular users like, with the proviso that no guarantee is made about the recommendations and that they don't by themselves constitute official recommendations.

Thanks. I looked around and found no articles re: QuickTime enabler. Is the cat out of the bag? I am naive enough to believe. I always felt QT was viable and stood up to Flash in OSX. I would be excited to have more video/sound options in our browser...

I discuss it in past blog entries, but it will have some changes in it, so I'd suggest waiting for it to become "official" first.

Thanks. Would I see that on homepage or auto update?

It will be part of unstable 15. If you are using the unstable branch, you will get it when that release comes out; otherwise, it will be part of the next scheduled stable release, which will be either 16 or 17, and you will get a notification as you would for any other version.
