that's what you're using now) to 10 -> 17 -> 24. This has the
best chance of working. Please note that most of your addons, if
you have any, won't work, and you should uninstall them first and
then reinstall them after.</p>
<p>Still, the cleanest approach is to start over with a fresh
profile. You can export your bookmarks and import them back after
the process (under Bookmarks, Show All Bookmarks; there should be a
button to do this). Then, to clean the profile, stop Firefox, drag
Library/Application Support/Firefox to the trash (but don't empty
the trash, so you can reverse the process if it goes bad). At this
point you can start TenFourFox, which will make a new profile
folder, and import your bookmarks from where you saved them.</p></div>Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-23T05:52:21Z2014-01-23T05:52:21Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>If you are using a version of Firefox prior to 3.6, by the way,
I would just start over -- too much has changed in the browser to
reliably upgrade directly or in steps.</p></div>Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-23T06:56:04Z2014-01-23T06:56:04Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>not sure what u mean by exporting bookmarks, that can be done
with a fresh profile (little last)? thanks btw on the step
procedure. gotta ask, believe also read that it's better to run
tenfourfox and firefox as one and same or together, would ifirefox
be able to be ran seperate? with out reinstall?, not that i want,
wondering? thank you for helping understand,</p></div>timslcsatofpatag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-23T07:01:55Z2014-01-23T07:01:55Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>sorry if i sound if sound new at the computer, or not sure, been

with having a little time.</p></div>timslcsatofpatag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-24T07:51:28Z2014-01-24T07:51:28Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>cameron, couldn't find how to export the bookmarks last night
but found out how today. just a little confused on me relieably
upgrade in steps or directly. . take it that's meaning ff and to
download t4f in steps is the way to go. note read earlier that one
versions not dependent on the other, so will i have to get rid of
the earlier version once i step up? meaning if i go from 10-17-2.
again sorry to bother, been a while but it's coming back, just
wanna get it right, and thanks again, as well as doing this</p></div>timslcsatofpatag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-24T18:36:41Z2014-01-24T18:36:41Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>Tim, I'm not sure I understand your question. What version are
you starting from?</p></div>Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-24T19:39:42Z2014-01-24T19:39:42Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>hey cameron, first gotta say i didn't mean to bother u again,
take u away from other things. have been able to do a lot of
reading in the last 2 days. can't believe how much i didn't know
and there is to know but on a good note, reading about t4f has
really lead me and make me want to understand and get a somewhat
better idea and angle of the workings of what makes and goes into
my online experiance etc.. so thank you for that. alright that
said, i'm starting from scratch, don't have any versions of t4f
installed at this time but ff3.6. so here's where i'm at, (thinking
i'm almost good to go on all this) here's what i got or my starting
point- gonna install 10-4-f in steps mentioned (10-17-24), then
export bookmarks and try to update settings. (btw-the settings is
what i'm reading about now, learning what i could and how to go
about them as to what will work, not sure if the add ons and plug
ins are involved but gonna try figure it out). with then being up
to current 24 version will then drag old profile to the trash, the
above mention reference (library./app/ support ff etc). one thing
not sure at the moment is if when finish and get up to current
versions (assuming i get there) do i need to delete or trash the
older ones or versions. example being once get the 24 version
loaded do need to do anything with the 10 or 17 version. had seen
something last night that mention something about this, believe
mention they are dependent on one another which leaves me to think
it might be best to trash the older version, don't think would need
them and as also would be taking up space. anyway, sorry again to
bother u. hopefully my thoughts and writing makes sense but this is
pretty much where i'm at. if u see this and have time any thoughts
would be appreciated.</p></div>timslcsatofpatag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/312637682014-01-24T21:07:53Z2014-01-24T21:12:12Zgetting ready to download, need help <div><p>Here's a step-by-step for you for migrating from FF 3.6 to TFF
24.</p>
<p>1) Start FF 3.6.<br>
2) In Tools Menu>Add-ons>Extensions: If you have any
extensions, note them down, then remove them. In all likelyhood,
none of them will work in TFF 24<br>
3) In Bookmarks Menu>Organize Bookmarks… click the "Star"
Button>Export HTML… (see screenshot below). This will make
a backup copy of your bookmarks in case anything goes wrong<br>
4) With FF 3.6, go to<br>
<a href=
"http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/downloads/detail?name=TenFourFox7450-10.0.11.app.zip&can=2&q">
http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/downloads/detail?name=TenFourFo...</a>=<br>
and download TFF 10<br>
5) Close FF 3.6 and move it to the trash in the Finder (Macintosh
HD/Applications/Firefox.app --> drag to Trash). Do not start FF
3.6 any more from here on, otherwise it will destroy your migrated
profile<br>
6) Unzip your TFF 10.zip download<br>
7) In the Finder, move the TFF 10 application to "Macintosh
HD/Applications" and start it from there<br>
8) With TFF 10, go to<br>
<a href=
"http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/downloads/detail?name=TenFourFox7450-17.0.11.app.zip&can=2&q">
http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/downloads/detail?name=TenFourFo...</a>=<br>
and download TFF 17<br>
9) Close TFF 10<br>
10) Unzip TFF 17<br>
11) Move the TFF 17 application to "Macintosh HD/Applications (it
will overwrite TFF 10, that's okay) and start it from there<br>
12) With TFF 17, go to<br>
<a href=
"http://sourceforge.net/projects/tenfourfox/files/24.2.0/TenFourFox7450-24.2.0.app.zip/download">
http://sourceforge.net/projects/tenfourfox/files/24.2.0/TenFourFox7...</a><br>
and download TFF 24<br>
13) Close TFF 17<br>
14) Unzip TFF 24<br>
15) Move the TFF 24 application to "Macintosh HD/Applications"
– again, overwriting TFF 17 – and start it<br>
16) You're done and can use TFF 24 normally<br>
17) If you had any extensions in FF 3.6, re-download them in the
Add-ons Manager (Tools>Add-ons>Get Add-ons)<br>
18) Your bookmarks should have survived the process, if they
haven't, you can re-import them from your saved bookmarks.html
