Certain older Intel Macs cannot run anything higher, and there's
also the fact that some users stay on Snow Leopard because of
Rosetta which is not available for Lion or higher.

Danielle S.tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492014-09-09T16:23:18Z2016-08-03T18:19:45ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

Hello Danielle, the short answer is: Unlikely, unless we find a
volunteer. See this issue for progress: https://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/issues/detail?id=275
It refers to 10.5, but 10.6 will soon be in the same boat.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492016-03-30T12:04:55Z2016-08-03T18:19:45ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

Does TenFourFox run under Rosetta as a PowerPC program in Snow
Leopard?

If so, which version of TFF should someone use?

Asked because apparently Firefox is dropping support for Snow
Leopard. There may be Intel Mac users on OS 10.6 who would be
interested in TenFourFox.

Winstontag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492016-03-30T15:28:56Z2016-08-03T18:19:45ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

Winston, this is answered in the FAQ in detail.

The official answer is "none of them because it's not
supported." The FAQ does mention some things to try, but I won't
accept bug reports from Snow Leopard users running TenFourFox; it's
neither tested with nor designed for that platform.

I'll be updating the text to reflect the upcoming new reality,
but the recommended actions are the same.

I've posted about this on the MacResource Forum. I
expect the question will come up again. Apparently plans to drop
10.6 support in Firefox are still up in the air. May be getting
some attention as Chrome will shortly drop 10.6 support.

should) downgrade to Firefox 45 ESR on Snow Leopard, which will be
provided w/ official security updates right into 2017: https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/

funtooshtag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492016-06-15T21:35:20Z2016-08-03T18:19:45ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

It will be also a problem for users of MacOS Lion. Is there
something in the pipeline for the time when Mozilla ends all
updates for Firefox ESR next year ?

rxsiebentag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492016-06-16T12:38:07Z2016-08-03T18:19:45ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

I kind of suspect that nobody is going to take up the task.

rxsieben, while I sympathize (especially since Lion and Mountain
Lion users can't even run TenFourFox under Rosetta since there
is no Rosetta), maintaining an Intel version of TenFourFox
isn't something I have sufficient time to do. Hopefully someone
else will step up to the plate.

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/345055492016-06-24T06:55:19Z2016-08-03T18:19:44ZWhen Firefox discontinues Snow Leopard support...

Am 23.06.16 um 14:59 schrieb Cameron Kaiser:
