Unable to login to Sync on a specific machine
Hello. I am unable to login to Sync on a specific machine in my collection. The machine is a 800 MHz eMac, ATI graphics, running Mac OS X 10.5.8, TenFourFox 7450 FPR 22. (Output of machine
is ppc7450
.) I am unable to login to Sync on this machine. Entering my email flashes "Unexpected error" above the email entry. Changing the user agent to Firefox results in the page spinning forever, but logging a timeout after a minute in the scripting console from trying to reach fx:accounts
. I am unsure what would be causing this machine to behave differently from the others I have. Sync works correctly on:
- iMac G3 266 MHz
- PowerBook G4 1.67 GHz, 15"
- iBook G3 300 MHz, Clamshell
- iBook G3 500 MHz, Dual USB
- Mac mini G4 1.25 GHz
I have also attempted to run the FPR 21 version of 7450 on the eMac, but the same issues occur when syncing, even after deleting ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox.

I have the same symptoms on a G4 PPC 7400 FPR 22. I was able to sync previously on 21. But I thought my problem syncing was do to changing my sync password, which i promptly forgot.
I have performed both a reinstall and a Firefox reset, no change.

Update: I have gotten a hold of a 1.8 GHz first-revision iMac G5. The "unexpected error" issue happens with Sync on this machine too after a fresh install of Leopard.

I'm also having this issue on my 12" PowerBook G4 6,8. Sync was working fine until I downgraded the OS from Leopard to Tiger (I wanted to play The Sims and needed classic environment) so I thought it had something to do with that, but it looks like people on Leopard are having this issue too.
