There is no way for the browser to deal with this other than to crash. How much RAM is in your computer? Do you have a lot of extensions installed? Are you using the MP4 Enabler?

If you are able to make it crash reliably (it sounds like you can), open
Console.app
(usually in
Applications:Utilities
) and see if messages appear there before the browser halts.

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/480992562020-02-19T03:14:24Z2020-02-19T03:14:24ZTenFour Fox Crashing Constantly

Kenny, I removed your last post not only because it was extremely long (I don't need all the output) but it revealed other applications you were running and other details of your system which you may not want to have revealed.

The output that was there, however, is all consistent with TenFourFox running out of memory. Although your system has a full 16GB, TenFourFox is a 32-bit app, so it is limited to about 2GB of addressing space. That said, your installation seems to be almost completely unable to get anywhere without blowing up.

This is where I would start with a profile reset (safe mode only fixes some aspects), see "How to reset your profile" at right. If this doesn't work, I'm afraid I don't have any other suggestions for you right now. Obviously it's not something I'm observing on the test machines or from other reports currently.

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/480992562020-02-20T01:36:46Z2020-02-20T01:36:46ZTenFour Fox Crashing Constantly

Thanks Cameron I'll try that.

Thanks also for keeping this platform alive.

lightningstat
