youtube on my emac??
Hey everybody... just picked up an emac from the thrift store the other day. Its the original g4 700mhz one. I upgraded it to 640mb of ram and mac os 10.4. I like browsing in the classila agent mode of TFF.. runs nice and fast. I went to youtube and got really excited when it prompted me to open the .3gp file with quicktime but it didn't load.
I remember I got youtube working on an old ppc mac mini with linux many years ago with an addon that let me download youtube videos as a file. Was hoping to find something like that. I tried quicktime enabler.... it doesn't seem to work. Just tells me 'no valid id' or something like that. Is there any other way? Some way to open the .3gp files or... an addon that will allow me to download the videos elsehow? (preferably from classila mode)?
Any help would be appreciated! I'm glad this community is still active. Hey... unrelated question... I noticed the last version of clasilla was released in 2014. Is the project discontinued?

Should have mentioned...Youtube DOES work in tenfourfox agent but runs at about 1 frame per 5 seconds. Also I have tried VLC to open the .3gp files with no luck.

Jesse, try switching to 144p (Gear Icon), or use one of these web-based downloaders:

There are multiple ways to watch Youtube on your machine - it's even possible on much lower spec vintage Macs. Search Youtube on this forum:

The first link provided by Chris works like a charm at 360p. Thanks !
