"A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Script: https://news.google.com/?tab=w…aa=1&hl=en-US&gl=US&ceid...". This happens every time I go to Google News.
Thanks for any help, Ron.

Ron Kelleytag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/456803122018-07-13T16:27:51Z2018-07-13T16:28:28ZGoogle News Unresponsive script

Well, it takes a while but it works. Maybe just a complex news message?

pollukstag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/456803122018-07-13T16:33:36Z2018-07-13T16:33:36ZGoogle News Unresponsive script

Ron, what are the details of the system you are using?

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/456803122018-07-13T18:14:05Z2018-07-22T07:00:02ZGoogle News Unresponsive script

This is my system:

Ronald Kelleytag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/456803122018-07-22T07:09:17Z2018-07-22T19:53:27ZGoogle News Unresponsive script

Ron, your message ended up in the spam folder. I restored your message.

Looking at your system specs I'd say your Mac is sufficiently capable to run Google News. This website will be kind of slow on any older Mac, though. On my PowerBook 1.67 GHz I get a few seconds of the spinning beach ball when loading the site, but it comes up fine eventually.

The easiest thing would be to switch off the 'unresponsive script' warning:

Type about:config (just like one word, no spaces) in the URL bar. Press Return.

Confirm that you'll be careful.

Scroll down to dom.max_script_run_time (or type it in the filter), double click it and set the value to 0.
