new issue ... Foxbox - Gmail ... today

The latest set of dysfunctions when attempting to use Foxbox for Gmail is the gmail page renders as a column of words on left side of the display; gmail is one of them. So this seems to show all the google services associated with the logged in account.

When I click on gmail, the regular page starts to load, and I see the opportunity to click on 'load low bandwidth' option, and that is what saves me (in this scenario, unlike previous low-bandwidth option; where no logout was possible at all. this one can logout, but only if you set the default preference to Low Bandwidth.)

This like other issues in FoxBox for Gmail, does not happen in the full browser. I can pull the window horizontal to make it narrow, in TenFourfox and the gmail icon login log-out still works and also the search bar isn't frozen in width; as it has been in Foxbox for Gmail.

So I have to choose to not use Foxbox for Gmail (only works with default low-bandwidth, and those settings I cannot use in modern other Macs or other devices that see the basic HTML low-bandwidth as Default. The features that work in full browser TenFourFox and latest versions FireFox, Safari, etc in other Macs I own, do not work in the FoxBox for Gmail.

And some of this goes back to unanswered question about how to tell if those 'about:configure' settings for odd font issues, need to be re-set to original default (after you said we should change them to not let unsupported fonts load) because these settings seem to be part of the problem in the FoxBox. I've been using the FoxBox for Gmail from the sample downloads folder. And made copies to test other versions. But the one from your download link is what I've found to work better than nothing; until now.

Google must have changed some code, but that only affects FoxBox for Gmail. As did the other issues regarding search box re-draw, where the login/logout menu icon was unable to be accessed (esp in 12" iBook G4/ Tiger) with narrow screen. My Late2005 Mac mini G4 has larger screen and so I had been able to work around the frozen search box in middle of Foxbox for Gmail, to still access the login/logout on far right side. (Not an issue in full browser TenFourFox.)

Hopefully this item can be addressed; or if anyone else who had used an original supplied Foxbox gmail example has been getting this issue, what was a solution when setting up a new Foxbox? Other than not use FoxBox for Gmail. The 10.4.Fx browser alone works OK.

The login window in regular view screen capture gives me a menu on left side. Clicking on (gmail) gives me login but if I don't option to use Basic HTML, the next window is not useable to access gmail. But I can use default Basic HTML in Foxbox; just that all otherwise good access-points to gmail in other newer devices and regular TenFourFox show gmail in Basic HTML, where I don't need basic there.

So the foxbox codes are broken for Standard view gmail.
Thank you for your time & consideration of these matters.
