Does it say 45.8.0?

TenFourFox plays web.m HTML5 video, which means it will play about everything on Youtube. It doesn't play H.264 HTML5 video. For some Youtube videos uploaded less than a few hours ago you may need to wait a bit until Youtube has finished encoding them to web.m. If the browser doesn't play any Youtube video, something is clearly wrong with your installation. Please check on the version first, then we'll see what can be done.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/421046692017-03-08T11:39:30Z2017-03-08T11:39:31Zcan't upgrade to tenfourfox 45

Hi Chris, right yeah the version of tenfourfox is 45.7.0. After what you said the YouTube videos were recent uploads that I was testing on the Mac so that could explain it. I guess I'm pretty much upto date then?

Still no go. I've tried via both Google and Yahoo. The green progress

I'm not sure, though, what you mean by
'I've tried via both Google and Yahoo.' None of these are necessary or involved in the steps to download the browser.

Please try the following:

• Try downloading the file with Safari • In TenFourFox, go to Preferences>General and check where downloaded files are saved. • In TenFourfox, go to Help>Troubleshooting Information>Refresh TenFourFox. This will remove add-ons and reset custom settings that might interfer with the download.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/421046692017-12-20T20:44:22Z2017-12-20T20:44:22Zcan't upgrade to tenfourfox 45

Chris,

The best solution for you is to update your Intel Mac (if possible) to at least Mac OS X 10.9 and use regular Firefox. If your Mac can't update to a more recent system and the latest versions of TFF are too slow on your hardware (note that you should try the G3 version, if any), I'm afraid you're out of options if you want an up-to date, secure web-browser.

[edit] I see you probably meant you downloaded the installer on your Intel Mac and transferred it to you PPC Mac (?) If so, try resetting your profile if TFF is too slow. This will remove add-ons and reset preferences to the defaults without touching your bookmarks and browsing history. Go to Help>Troubleshooting Information>Refresh TenFourFox to start. [/edit]

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/421046692017-12-27T18:10:01Z2017-12-27T18:10:02Zcan't upgrade to tenfourfox 45

Chris,

I do use both the PPC and Intel Macs, with more recent development on
the Intels. But I have a large number of files on the PPC-G5 that I
regularly access and that will only run under software on the PPC, so
I'll also continue to use the G-5 platform as long as possible (I'm
on it right now).

Are you saying the G3 TFF version might run on my G5? If I run the
install zip file will it override the current TFF v. 4 without any
other steps?

If it doesn't work, will I be able to easily switch back to the
current v. 4?

I do appreciate all your efforts to keep the early machines operable.

Thanks,
The G3 version will run on there also, but it will be slower.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/421046692018-06-08T03:05:34Z2018-06-08T03:05:34Zcan't upgrade to tenfourfox 45

Chris,

Past attempts to upgrade Tenfourfox on my G5 have been futile. I
continue to receive notices and would like to upgrade.

Since my download attempts on the G5 haven't worked, I'm trying to
download the release 7 and save to my Intel imac. From the
Sourceforge page, I choose download and it seems to work, so I select
Save but there's no option to navigate to a folder so I can't find
the file. Spotlight doesn't find it either so I suspect it isn't
downloading.

Can you just send me a link. And if I then download it to the Intel
imac, should I just be able to copy it over to the G5? If I do that,
then, after saving my bookmarks should I delete the Tenfourfox
version I'm using before installing the upgrade?

Thanks,
https://tinyurl.com/tffdirect
and click "Please use this direct link".
Then click Tools>Downloads in the Menu bar. It should have "TenFourFoxG5-FPR7" on top of the list. Click the looking glass, it will lead you to the place it was downloaded to in the Finder.

Please report back if that worked and we'll go from there.

Chris (chtrusch)
