Hello,

I'm very happy with TenFourFox and FoxBox, but I've noticed that the Dropbox website can't properly download .pages files.
Since I couldn't find any discussions about it I wondered whether it's something anyone else has noticed as well.
Word-files and PDF files download correctly and can even be previewed in the browser. But when I try to download .pages files, a temporary file is created for a second or so, and then it just stops downloading. (In FoxBox the temporary file just disappears)
Who can help me solve this? Is this a (known) bug in FoxBox/TenFourFox?

There's nothing specific in TenFourFox that deals with Pages files, but is this the phenomenon you're referring to? https://www.dropboxforum.com/t5/Syncing-and-uploads/Pages-doc-won-t...

If not, please provide us an example we can look at (it should be publicly accessible).

    Hello Cameron,

I think Dropbox doesn't like .pages files in general. When I tried to upload a .pages document, Dropbox just viewed the documents as folders, like it does on a Windows machine.
(I am using iWork '09, Pages 4.0; the last supported version of Pages for Tiger)
So I can't even upload a test file.

    Thanks for your reply,

    Bert

.pages documents aren't files, they are packages (like Mac applications). They must be zipped before they're uploaded anywhere outside the Apple ecosystem.

    Hello Chris,

Zipping the file before uploading does work, so I guess that is the
    best workaround.
Though I'll probably end up carrying a flash-drive with me.
    Thanks for your help,

    Bert
