I tried your suggestion but still same problem. I am not too savvy so may have missed something

A screenshot of what message you actually get, and which bank specifically, would be very helpful.

    Dear Cameron

Thank you responding. It is Barclays on line and when I try to now log on it says "Browser Alert - it appears you are using a browser which is unsupported or out of date - please upgade". Up until last week I had a warning but there was a button I could tick to say I understood my experience my not be up to scratch!

I have tried with all the browsers they recommended and my mac will no longer accept any of them . I have had long conversations with Barclays and Apple. Both are very pleasant but state my Mac is obsolete and there is nothing they can do. So unless you can do something I am stuck. We live in the country so there are no more local branches to go!

    Yours hopefully

(A polite request: links are much more helpful than names. I was able to find the message you referred to relatively easily at https://bank.barclays.co.uk/olb/auth/LoginLink.action but please do provide links in future so that we know we're looking at the same thing you're looking at.)

The problem seems to be that Barclays does not know what TenFourFox is. This is because it sniffs the user agent instead of the browser's capabilities, which is improper practice. You may want to bring that to their attention since you are a paying customer, though I'll say candidly one of my banks has a similar issue and they never replied to repeated requests.

Fortunately installing a user agent switcher should solve this problem. When I changed my user agent, the login page did appear. I am not a Barclays customer, so I cannot offer further advice once you've logged in, however. There are other solutions you can try which are in the following other Tenderapp tickets:

    Dear Cameron

I found my wife's old Asus Tablet and was able to go on line with that so did not take up your suggestion - but thanks anyway. These days one just cannot go into the local branch; its all machines and online and call centres and I was fed up with the time taken.

However your new version(50) works again with Barclays and they have reinserted the box to allow me to continue with my old Mac!

    Thanks to whoever.

    Yours
