38.9 causing Kernel Panics...
Just did the upgrade to 38.9 and noticed a Kernel Panic every few hours of use (4 in total). All of the newer TFF versions seem more crash-prone, but this is the 1st time observing this issue.

Have run full tests - with Techtool Pro, full RAM check with Applesjack/Memtest (no problems detected) and full Onyx twice.
Problem completely subsided when going back to earlier version (38.6.1).
at first wondered if might be the heat, but 2 of the times were at night when it was cool.

Misterious. The only things I can advise here is to check your hardware again using the official Apple Hardware Test. Also, just for testing purposes, you could try to run 38.6.1 for a week or two. If there haven't been any new kernel panics, install 38.9 again and see what happens.

Chris: I know that Kernel Panics are notoriously hard to pin-down, so
not expecting any specific action or advice - just something to keep an
eye on - if more people have it come up (like maybe paging with the
higher RAM requirements may become an increasing problem going forward).
This system does have a new SSD in it, that's been working really well,
but its Sandforce, so a problem that can occur with lots of paging is
that since a block can contain several pages, but if part of a block is
being "Trash-Collected" the other items within the block are momentarily
inaccessible - so in a large operation (like navigating Facebook or a
big Blogsite), maybe this could be a problem - when lots of paging is
occurring.
BTW just for taking the time to reply - you might enjoy trying the last
version of this out!!

Still uses terminal windows, so CK won't care about it, but there are a
lot of really cool new fixes and features.
Thanks Again!!
