Just noticed today that my bank will no longer let me log on with the latest version of TenFourFox. Bank tells me that I must update my browser to the latest version. When will TenFourFox be coming out with an updated version, and will it be sufficient in security for online banking?

Part of it is probably your bank is lazy (if you don't mind, which bank?): Firefox ESR, on which TenFourFox is based, still gets security updates. Usually the bank is unaware or doesn't want to test with anything but the latest Firefox. You can get around this by installing a user-agent spoof addon. I don't endorse one in particular, but this one seems to be popular: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/user-agent-switcher-...

To the larger question, I am working on trying to port Firefox 45, which is the next ESR. However, it is most likely we will fork off from Firefox after version 45. There will still be updates, but they will be written by us instead of Mozilla.

The bank is Chase. I guess they upgraded their user interface recently. I was able to see it by logging from another computer. Anyway, they list upgrade links to IE, Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Firefox (is listed) so I assume that the new UI they are using isn't playing well with my latest version of 10-4Fox. Hence my questions, when will another version of 10-4 Fox be out, and will it work for banking with Chase?

I personally use Chase. I haven't had a problem with it (other than messages). Do you have a screenshot of what you're seeing? Did you try a user agent switcher as I recommended?

What happens: As soon as I hit enter after typing my user name and password, I get a new page which says:
"You need to upgrade your browser to access you accounts and statements." It then gives me the four links to IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari. Ive attached a screen shot to this reply. I have not yet tried using the agent switcher. I'll try the agent and let you know what happens.

Cameron, is the user agent ad-on safe to use when doing online banking?

Although I don't endorse any particular add-on for this purpose, I don't see anything problematic in the add-on's source code.
