Re: error message on 35.5.0 version TFF
I received this error message after TFF quit recently. I don't know how this relates to the product but thought I would pass it along in the event it can be used to help others with the same problem.
My general experience with the 35.5.0 version of TFF is it is very unstable when visiting banking web sites, Linkedin web site and sometimes the Gmail web site. The browser has great difficultly loading and then keeping multiple tabs open on different web sites.
Oddly, in comparison the older 5.x version of Safari handles this much better. However, Safari is known to quit suddenly as well and it has a reputation for being slow on loading.
I hope this information is helpful - I look forward to the next version of the TFF browser!

Something has corrupted your browser. The window you show here has several bizarre characters in the offending XUL line. They do not appear in a clean copy. TenFourFox is tested with multiple banking sites and Gmail, among others, and no error of this type has ever occurred on the test systems.
I would first start by downloading a fresh copy of 38.5.0 and checking the download hash to ensure it downloaded correctly. Assuming the hashes match, unzip the browser and try again with this fresh copy.
If the same error returns, reset your profile to eliminate the possibility of a bad add-on being responsible (see the link at lower right), and resume with another clean copy.
If even that does not fix it, it is possible you have either a system component that is trying to alter the browser on disk, or you have an impending hardware failure that is corrupting file reads.

Hi Cameron,
Thanks for your prompt response to my question -
I tried what you recommended and it worked - I even checked the download
hash and everything checked out OK.
So now I am running 35.5.0 on my 1.8 G5 PPC DP without problems.
I will watch for irregular behavior or any failures - but so far none.
Thank you!

I'll leave this ticket open in case it happens again.

Hi,
Thanks for your prompt response to my support request.
I recently tried the "Refreshing" browser option offered by TenFourFox. It
reset the browser and removed the Add-ons (3) that I was using.
However, on first restart the browser was very fast, was much more stable
and no errors to report!
I reactivated my 3 Add-ons and I wish to report I have not had any failures
using TTF 38.6.x.
I would recommend this to anyone with a similar problem of crashes and
stability.
One thing I did notice is this: with each new version of the browser it
appears the Preferences settings for "accepting cookies" needs to be set
again. It does not stay the same as the prior TTF version. I know this
because using Wordpress one site I maintain notifies me that that Wordpress
site needs cookies enabled.
Other than that the results of following your reinstall instructions and
the browser refresh action seems to have worked very well!
Thank you!

Hi Cameron,
I tried several times to install the 38.7.0 early release of TFF with no
success on my G5 1.8DP running 10.5.8 OS. Generated these two errors - see
attached.
To cross check I saved the 38.6.0 final ZIP release and it opens,
decompresses - the app runs w/o issue (I'm using it now).
I can only conclude there is something wrong with the method used to create
the .ZIP distribution of 38.7.0. Ive never experienced and issue with any
of the prior releases of TFF.
I have no other system issues on my computer which might be a cause.
Any ideas why this is happening? Has anyone else reported a problem with
this specific version of TFF?
Oh, btw - congratulations on your engagement!
