Retain Window Position & Size

Hi!

Couldn't find this by searching Discussions or the Knowledge Base.

I'm running a two-monitor PPC G5. Every time I launch TFF, the screen reverts to my small "command" screen, so then I have to drag it across to my "Main Display" screen and expand it. Is there a preference that I'm missing somewhere to "Remember Window Size and Position?" If not, is it something that you could add in a future rev?

Thanks, and thanks again for doing this project!

Firefox does not handle multimonitor setups well in general, but there are two specific bugs related to this we already track. However, none of the test or development systems are dual head, so right now this can't be fixed. If a contributor with a dual-headed setup has a patch, we will take it.

Wow, Cameron! Thanks for the very prompt and succinct reply.

If I can track down some source code for a module that supports it in another open-source application, would that be of any use? I can think of a couple that operate the way I would like TFF to behave, but I'm not code-savvy enough to actually write the patch myself....

I"ll be happy to beta test anything that results.

    Hi Cameron,

[Replied online and, although it was accepted, it didn't seem to
"take," so I'll try this way.]

Wow! Thanks for the prompt and succinct reply!

If I can find an open-source module in another application that
behaves the way that I'd like TFF to operate, would that help? I'm no
longer code-savvy enough to actually write the necessary patch. I'd be
happy to beta-test anything that is subsequently produced....

In theory, yes, but Gecko is an unusual framework and integrating outside components is not always straightforward. But I'll certainly give it an honest look.

Thanks, Cameron. I'll see what I can find that might be a suitable
model and keep you posted. You might want to close this thread(?).
Then, when/if I find something, I'll start a new thread or post it to
    the wiki?

You can reopen this ticket (merely by replying to it), or create a new one, but I will close this one for the moment. Thanks for using TenFourFox.

(You don't need to reply to this; doing so will automatically reopen the ticket, unless that is your intention.)
