Is that the one you found? Unfortunately I didn't bookmark where I found it. I was under the impression it could automatically use the latest security from TFF even if it is a few years old.</p></div>super70stag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/483911622020-06-12T14:46:02Z2020-06-12T14:46:02ZTenfourbird<div><p>Unfortunately, no, it can't. One of the good and bad things about Mozilla-based apps is that they are self-contained. This allows TenFourFox to have updated security without affecting the rest of the system or requiring installing additional components, but it's bad in that no other applications, even other Mozilla-based ones, will benefit from them.</p></div>Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/483911622020-06-12T15:13:28Z2020-06-12T15:13:28ZTenfourbird<div><p>I see. Well I'm still going to keep on using it because it's surely at least as secure and with more features than any other email app that will run on a PowerPC running Tiger (that old SweetMail app I was using won't even display HTML-based pages).</p></div>super70stag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/483911622020-06-12T15:28:05Z2020-06-12T15:28:05ZTenfourbird<div><p>You're definitely right about that. For Leopard, installing Leopard WebKit will improve the security of Apple Mail, but there is no equivalent for Tiger, so Tenfourbird is certainly better than doing nothing. You should make sure you turn off JavaScript in mail messages, though, as this will greatly reduce the attack surface for cross-platform and drive-by information leakage vulnerabilities, which are the major concern on our systems.</p></div>Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/483911622020-06-12T15:42:56Z2020-06-12T15:42:56ZTenfourbird<div><p>I'll do that, appreciate the tip.</p></div>super70stag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/483911622020-06-12T16:10:57Z2020-06-12T16:10:58ZTenfourbird<div><p>Riccardo has GNUMail working quite well <a href="http://wiki.gnustep.org/index.php/GNUMail">http://wiki.gnustep.org/index.php/GNUMail</a>.</p>
<p>I haven't really dived in on it, but I was looking for some time to bring it into MacPorts.</p></div>Ken
