I see you have a quad core G5. I just got one for cheap. It is VERY nice, but it clearly has a cooling problem. It is not leaking, but CPU A overheats quite fast and the machine shuts down, particularly when running TenFourFox! CPU A is always about 20 degrees C hotter than CPU B.

I am in the process of getting the tools and supplies to remove/fix the LCS. I THINK it just needs more coolant and/or new thermal paste on the CPUs. The pump is running, but the radiator is not hot at all. Have you ever done this? Ever had any cooling issues on your quad G5?

There are several nice howtos and things on the net, and I have read them all. Just wondering if you have been down this road before. My quad has a single pump Delphi LCS. It was built in April 2006.

Also, is it possible to email you or otherwise take this discussion somewhere else? I don't see that option now.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

naddy69tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/451919172018-05-14T03:59:46Z2018-05-14T03:59:46ZThank You for TenFourFox, and a suggestion

My Quad has refurbished CPUs and new LCSes. I did not rehabilitate them myself; I got new units from an Apple certified retailer and just swapped them out.
