FPR6 basic AdBlock

I just upgraded from FPR5 to FPR6. Then I happened to read your blog from 21 Feb 2018 "Let's block nuisance JavaScript" which says:
"(we) recommend either disabling or entirely removing any existing adblock or anti-tracker add-ons before you update
so you can see basic adblock in its truest form"
Since I didn't do that, & had an active ad-block addon when I upgraded, can I now just disable or remove the addon ? I want to try the basic adblock alone in its optimal performance configuration.
Thanks, -Gerry

If you have a copy of the addon already, it's probably simpler to just delete it, but disabling it would also be fine. For testing purposes you should restart your browser after doing either just to make sure there's nothing lingering if the addon didn't properly clean up after itself. Then make sure the correct pref is set as according to that blog entry. You don't need to restart to enable it.

Please note this feature is in testing and is not "officially released" (the plan is to expose it in the UI in FPR7). Also, as a general request, please make comments on features in testing on the development blog if possible; we don't want users on the stable version getting confused by reports on pre-release features. Thank you!
