IPv6?
Hi, on my PPC iMac G5 running TenFourFox, it appears that IPv6 is not supported. Is that because it's a PPC or is that because of TenFourFox? Should IPv6 be supported and there's something I need to do? Thanks

IPv6 should be supported; 10.4+ supports it, and we haven't done anything specific to disable it. If you have changed any settings in
about:config
, make surenetwork.dns.disableIPv6
is set tofalse
(the default).Assuming that's not the case, it may also be a factor of the network between you and the IPv6-based site.

Hi, It was when I went to sites like whatsmyip, ipv6 test, and speedtest. They said IPv6 wasn't supported.
I haven't made any changes. I don't even know how to find about:config, make sure network.dns.disableIPv6 is set to false (the default).
Is that in TenFourFox, or is that in the apple system preferences somewhere? I looked in both, but couldn't find it.
Thanks again.

I figured out how to go to the config and yes network.dns.disableIPv6 is set to false

That's what I mean: there may be no way of ascertaining if it's your computer or your network. If you have other more recent systems, do they connect okay over IPv6?

Yes my mac mini running 10.6.8 and chrome seems to support IPv6

What about other browsers on the G5?

I tried with Safari 5.0.6. I think this was the last version available. Most sites wouldn't even perform the test or load, but ipv6-test.com said IPv6 was NOT supported

I'm not sure what to say about that. Unfortunately my internal network is strictly IPv4 so this is not something I can investigate or work on further right now. I'll leave this open in case other users have other data points.
