Mac Laptop Pro
Will my Mac Laptop Pro serial no. W86382V9TJ1? If so, what version of TenFourFox should I install?
Gratefully,
Roger

According to the serial number, this is a 2006 17" MacBook Pro with a 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo processor. Unfortunately, TenFourFox is not supported on Intel Macintoshes, although some users have managed to get it to operate; see this FAQ question: Can 10.4Fx run on an Intel Mac with 10.4 or 10.5?
In general, for Intel users we suggest purchasing 10.6 "Snow Leopard" from Apple (yes, it's still available) and running the actual Firefox, which still supports 10.6. All Intel machines with sufficient RAM can run 10.6, including your laptop, and 10.6 will still run PowerPC software. If you are already running 10.6, then you can just download the regular Firefox and it should "just work."

Thank you! I am still running OSX 4.11, not having upgraded beyond OS program of 2006. Are you saying that newest FireFox will, indeed, run OK on 10.6 Snow Leopard?
Very gratefully,
Roger

Is there a way for me to purchase and install Snow Leopard on line? Apple Store offers upgrade to Mountain Lion online, but I realize that is not compatible with my 2006 MacBook.
Better question: What is the best way to purchase Snow Leopard, if I live 100 miles from the nearest Mac place?
Gratefully,
Roger

My Mac Store folks warned me that installing Snow Leopard 10.6 would probably cause problems with my iphoto program as well as requiring other program upgrades, including Word.
Your perspective?
Gratefully,
Roger

1) The newest Firefox will run fine on 10.6.
2) I can't answer that, regrettably. I don't use iPhoto on my 10.6 Intel machine. It hasn't had any problems with 10.6, but it started out with 10.5, so it is a little newer than yours. There is no guarantee that there won't be any incompatibility.

Thanks much for your response to my ambiguous problem. I think that I will now just be satisfied with Safari and avoid the possibility of further complications. My losing Firefox was a classic "Duh!" moment.
Grateful for you and your helpful service,
Roger
