I often used Google Earth
satellite photos, but today it said I need Mac OSX 10.5+. I realize
TenFourFox will not support the Google Earth plugin but how about
the .app?

stanrtag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/259383362013-03-18T16:25:21Z2013-03-18T16:25:21ZGoogle Earth/Maps on TenFourFox?

System requirements for Google Earth 5 are:
- 10.4 and up, - 1 GHz processor (officially, it does run decently
on my G3 800 MHz iBook) - 256 MB RAM - 16 MB video RAM (it will run
on 8 MB VRAM machines, but with graphics glitches and slow).

Later versions than 5.2 (I think) are Intel only or require
10.5/10.6, so make sure you disable Google Software Update. It may
auto-update you to a version that doesn't run on your system (I've
seen that happen).

Whether or not you use TenFourFox doesn't matter because Google
Earth is a standalone application.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/259383362013-03-18T18:33:44Z2013-03-18T18:33:44ZGoogle Earth/Maps on TenFourFox?

Many thanks for prompt reply. The current Google Earth is
version 6.2. After I posted the question I noticed that what I was
using previously was Google Maps not Google Earth. These include
satellite image options, and continue to operate on TenFourFox
version 10. I might post a clarification, unless you suggest that I
drop the topic as not TenFour-related. (TenFourFox is doing a great
job for my G4 Macs.)
Thanks again - Stan

want to update to the current stable release TenFourFox 17, it's
faster and more secure than 10. I'll close the thread for now
– if you have any further questions regarding Google Maps
just re-open.

Chris (chtrusch)
