Google hangouts addon - does it work in the current 10.4Fx?

I've just discovered Google Hangouts and wonder if anyone has any warnings or cautions about adding the addon to the current version (31.7.0)? It would be super cool to turn my PowerBook into a VoIP terminal without Skype

    Just install it. It's only an extension. If problems arise, you can uninstall it anytime.

    I would expect some trouble with video, but have never used it myself. Just take a shot :-)
