TenFourFox runs slow on G4 Powerbook, updates to classical
Hello,
First, I just want to say thank you very very much for keeping the PPC platform alive with an up to date web browser. My question pertains to why tenfourfox runs slowly on PB G4 1.67 and then my next question pertains to classila - another great browser for OS 9 which I use OS 9 a lot for basic stuff. So, my PB G4 1.67 runs tenfourfox kind of slow - will there by improvements to it opening up faster? The websites with it load, just that they are loading slowly. Finally, classila - 9.3.3 is the latest version, but as of April 2020 its been almost 5 years since its been updated. Classila hasn't been abandoned, has it ? I feel the modern security protocols can be added by which will allow more use of it under OS 9. For instance, i feel its ridiculous not to access wikipedia because it requires https and not http. Is there a way to convert classila into a mobile browser, where by that we can browse most sites ?
Again, thank you for 2 nice products which keep the PPC alive. I would like to help out with classila if possible also.

If you generally find TenFourFox slow, and you have already done the low hanging fruit such as turning on basic adblock, reducing the number of add-ons you may have installed and trying a profile reset, I don't have a specific suggestion for you.
If there is a specific issue with a particular site, that could be looked at.
Classilla has lower priority. I am generally the sole developer, and while many people have claimed interest, very few have submitted any patches in its existence let alone done any major work on it. If you're asking me to pick it up again, that will happen as I have the spare time to do so. If you're thinking of working on it yourself, you don't need my permission to do it.

Cameron,
While I myself don't have a lot of experience, i can offer suggestions to those who are helping you with it, so long as it won't be abandoned. We in the MacOS9Lives.com forum appreciate and generously thank you for allowing OS 9 to use a browser. I use OS 9 for a lot of my video work which is light. I also am a freelance writer and OS 9 is great on the G4 Pismo(Was a G3 500 :) -> I just wanted to know that it is not abandoned. If Windows 2000/Windows 98 users can use Kernelx to access the web with updated security protocols, then OS 9 which is better than both of those can also !
Classila was written in Codewarrior right ? Btw, I would not ask for youtube capability under classila - those days are long over, sadly. But for TenFourFox I am very grateful for this as a PowerPC user. Once the coronavirus is over I will start to donate possibly to you which can help with also Classila.
Thank you and stay safe out there.
Roman
Oh, I just got an ssd for my pismo which is an Msata M2 128GB and this thing flies. I also see TenFourFox load a lot faster. i THINK SSD's are the way forward for PPC macs.
