On an iMac G5, with OS 10.5.8, and the most recent TenFourFox browser uploaded, I'm still not able to use dropbox. The display is partial, can't navigate around the window, and there's an error message up about the browser being too old. Help! Suggestions?

I'm also on 10.5, but I don't use Dropbox, so I can't really test much (dropbox.com looks fine to me). Have you tried Leopard Webkit? It's usually a good alternative for services which consist of web apps rather than traditional websites.

Generally I think it's now time to deploy a two-browser strategy on PPC Mac OS X to be able to use as much of the web as possible, TFF being more up-to-date with security and SSL/TLS support, while LWK supports some CSS and JavaScript features which aren't implemented in TFF (yet). I don't see any alternative if you want to keep using these old Macs on the web.

I've also heard people have better success with a different user agent. The Classilla one allegedly presents a simplified interface that still functions.

    Hi Cameron

Could you explain what you mean? I’m really just trying to stumble along, and “different user agent” means nothing to me.

    Thanks

I asked how can you ever be sure
that what you write is really
any good at all and he said you can't

you can't you can never be sure
    you die without knowing
whether anything you wrote was any good
if you have to be sure don't write
