"Need to update browser" announcements
I'm using Parity Release 9 on an MDD G4 running OS 10.5.8. When using TenFourFox in User Agent default mode, I'm getting warnings from both Facebook and PayPal. Facebook tells I need to update my browser for a "better user experience," and PayPal will not let me complete any transactions. PayPal does work if I switch User Agent to "iOS Safari (iPad)" mode.

As an addendum, I now find that the Download link at DropBox also will not work when TenFourFox is in User Agent default mode. But it does if I switch to "iOS Safari (iPad)" mode.

There are three separate issues in your report. Because of previous problems with changing the default user agent, I haven't made any further changes other than to update the FPR release number. This means that the site shouldn't enable incompatible features, but many sites will simply dismiss the browser as too old. That's why the User Agent field exists.
The Facebook issue is known. There is no current solution other than what you're doing. It is unlikely I will change this because of other problems with Facebook.
I can't replicate your issue with Paypal; I use it frequently. This may be a new change that hasn't been rolled out to all users.
The Dropbox problem is actually quite old. There is no current solution other than what you're doing. It appears to be related to a JavaScript feature we don't yet support, but I haven't so far been able to determine what that feature is.

When I use FoxBox with my Facebook account, I don't get the "better user experience" warning.

Foxboxes use a different default user agent related to the name of the foxbox (in fact, one that most sites will see as unfamiliar, and may simply ignore).
