Looks like a corrupted profile, a permissions problem or hard disk problem.
In the Finder, click the Go Menu and select Home, then navigate to Library/Application Support/Firefox/Profiles.
1) See if there are any files in there and whether you can access them in the Finder
2) Right-click the Profiles folder and choose Get Info > Sharing and Permissions. See if your Mac OS X user has read and write access.
