unable to use Paypal from eBay
Hi, I am a long-time user of TFF. However since installing TenFourFox Feature Parity Release (SPR1) I am unable to make payments through eBay. I finally had to resort to using Safari 4.1.3. Oh the ignominy!
I have a G5-DP 2.0 GHz with 16GB of RAM running OSX 10.4.11. My machine can also boot into 10.5.8. When I am logged into eBay under 10.4.11, if I go to make a payment and try to log into PayPal after a lot of spinning beach-balls I eventually get: "It looks like you were idle a bit too long. Please log in again."
If I try the same thing from 10.5.8 I get: "Sorry you took to long. Please try again."
As an experiment I tried allowing TFF to remember my PayPal password, but that decrease in log-in time didn't fix it.
I am in New Zealand and wondered if eBay had changed the time-out settings for email packets to something that wouldn't accept such a long hop as from California to Auckland, New Zealand. Of course I asked eBay that question and they didn't respond.
It's probably something far more complex than that, but it would be great if this could be fixed as I buy lots of obsolete little bit and pieces off eBay for my work.
Thank you and best wishes for the holiday season.
Peter

Please note that the current version is SPR4. However, I routinely make PayPal payments from eBay and I can't reproduce this. Do you have any add-ons installed? Have you tried this with a clean profile to see if a stuck old setting is the problem? (See "How to reset your profile" at the lower right.)

wow, lightning reply, thank you!
My version reports as: "Feature Parity Release 4 (SPR 1)"
I see the logic of your recommendation, but I still use "BetterPrivacy" and unfortunately it's NLA.
(Is there an alternative to this add-on ??)
I tried switching off all add-ons & restarting, but that didn't help.
BTW my PB G3 Pismo, PB G4Ti 1.0, G4 QS DP 1.0 and G5 2.5 Quad thank you from the bottom of their hearts for the superb effort you and the TFF team put into this excellent browser!
