tenfourfox 45.8 "not supported on this system"?
( my email ends with .co not .com )
I just tried to download the new update of TenFourFox 45.8.0 for my Apple G5 running Mac OS 10.4.11.
I got a dialog box that says:
You cannot open the application "TenFourFoxG5-45.8.0" because it is not supported on this system.
I have attached a screen grab of the dialog box below.

You can use Command ⌘ instead of Control ^ on Mac

i´ve got the same problem with my g4.

Hello Tim,
I believe what was happening in my particular case was that my
download attempts were not giving me the complete package.
The "progress bar" is tiny and was going un-noticed by me and I was
moving forward before the download was finished.
When I tried again and waited longer, I got a complete package
download and it installed properly.
We are now up to 45.9 and awaiting the all-new version, slated to be
introduced this fall I believe.
We have never tried to download and install this wonderful browser on
a G4 though.

The problem appears to be that it's the G5 version, which only runs on G5s, not G4s. One of the G4 versions ought to run fine.

That was to Tim, not Gary. But I'd try the G4 version on a G5 running TIger too if the G5 is unsupported.

Although you can do that, the G4 version lacks several of the G5-specific optimizations and will run less well.
I'm using 45.9 (and the FPR1 beta) on a G5 and can't reproduce this. As Tim noted, the usual cause is an incomplete download which yields a corrupted file. If you're still getting this error, please verify the hash of the zip file using the instructions here: https://github.com/classilla/tenfourfox/wiki/Hashes
