Hi Chris. I actually solved it. After much frustration I cleared all my settings, cache, cookies etc etc in TenFourFox and restarted and suddenly it worked. I dont know why. Maybe some kind of setting was screwed up but I hadnt touched anything....
But TenFourFox behaved exactly the same in Safari on an Intel-mac running OS X 10.6.8. Så maybe Dropbox thought it was an older Safari-browser trying to access their site on both computers?
And, no, I do not have anything public on Dropbox. And I do believe that in order to see the problem one should have a huge Dropbox folder with a lot of files.
And while you are here I want to thank you so much for the good work with TenFourFox. Its a life saviour for me and the last browser that can connect to Dropbox and Facebook on a 10.4.11 OS X. Please dont stop develop it.
And yes, I also use TenFourBird as my emailclient at my designstudio :-D
