I recently updated to version 38.2.1 . I have a G5 Mac running 10.5.8. Every time I've used this new version, at some point the red, yellow, and green buttons on the upper left simply vanish. Those buttons come n handy, especially when I want to minimize, but there is nothing I can do to restore them.
I tried to go to "customize toolbar" only to find out that has changed drastically. can no longer customize the toolbar the way I want. This is a vital problem, because sometimes the address window in the browser vanishes, but i could restore it easily using "customize toolbar." Now that "customize toolbar" no longer exists n a functional way, this means I will have to stop using TenFourFox the next time the address window disappears.

Hello Bob, I think we have two problems here.

One is easy: You can customize the URL bar (not the top bar that contains the traffic light buttons) by going to View>Toolbars>Customize.

The other one – the vanishing buttons – may be a bug in the browser. Can you make a screenshot once it happens again and upload it here? This would be very helpful. First please make sure you're not using a browser skin (persona). Go to Tools>Add-ons>Appearance to check if you're using the Default 38.2.1 theme.

Thanks for the response. I will take a screenshot next time the buttons disappear.

I may not have been clear about the issue with the address bar. All the times before, when that happened, I did View>Toolbars>Customize and resolved the issue. With this new update, I cannot do that. When I do View>Toolbars>Customize this is what I get.

Thanks for reporting. It's a known issue that skins will lead to some cosmetic problems. Like

    - traffic light buttons may be hidden
    - button position is too high with top bar enabled
    - the same is true for private browsing window which is also just a skinned window
    - buttons may flicker when window is resized (10.4. only) even with the Default skin

There is an issue here: https://github.com/classilla/tenfourfox/issues/247 meaning it's on the work list, however it doesn't have a very high priority right now

    Also see release notes https://github.com/classilla/tenfourfox/wiki/ZZReleaseNotes3821

My advice for now is to use the Default skin only.

Just to confirm that in 38.3.0 my traffic light buttons tend to disappear - but only when I change my Theme from the Default version. Buttons can be temporarily restored by doing a mouse-over.
Not really a problem for this user.
