Cant play songs on grooveshark
Hello,
I have searched the discussion and can't see anything about the subject so I decided to crate this new one:
I´m running Tenfour 17.0.6 on an iMac G5.
I was happy to see that Grooveshark has come out with an HTML5 version, meaning I should theoretically could use it now to play music on TenFour. Bug songs will not play, I can add them to the playlist but when I hit play, grooveshark cycles through all songs and can't play any of them, nothing happens basically.
I looked on the web a bit and only found something about firefox not being able to play patentes sound formats such as mp3 and ACC (which are the only ones that Grooveshark offers) and since TenFOur is based on firefox I thought it might be the same deal.
However, firfox has no problems running Grooveshark (and version) on my PC at work.
Any suggestions? Maybe an addon is needed ?
Regards,
Dani

I'm unable to test Grooveshark right now because it's unavailable in my country for licensing reasons, and none of the proxies are fast enough. So I can only suggest the usual suspects: Disable all add-ons (especially add blockers), or try a fresh Firefox profile in case something else is interfering.

I found out the problem. It´s because of the media formats that grooveshark
uses (mp3) which the mozilla license does not include. (I´m replying on the
fly and know I´m messing up a bit and my answer is not exactly accurate,
though it was something along those lines)
Keep up the good fight!
regards,
Dani

I offer you a small ray of hope: Mozilla is trying to integrate GStreamer into Firefox, which should allow us to redirect these streams through QuickTime. I don't know when this functionality will be available (probably not in 24, but possibly in a subsequent version, assuming we can keep the port alive until then).

That would be great of course!
Thanks for the efforts so far.

I am having problems with playback, no matter what browser I am using. It only plays a bit of the song, then goes to the next one, etc. Help!!

Dodie, please see the comments above. TenFourFox can't play Grooveshark music at all right now. If it doesn't work right in any browser, maybe you're experiencing network problems, or Grooveshark has technical issues?

In which version did it work? Can you remember?

It won't even let me play a single song. I tried rebooting my computer and nothing is working! HELP!

It's not working at all. Every time I try to play a song it just does a little buffering circle around the play button.

Please provide the link of the website you want to use. Grooveshark (officially) doesn't exist anymore.
