web page appears that I can't seem to get rid of; Anyone else run
into this? It may be something about Amazon's site that causing

<p>Attached is a screen shot of "Amazon.com: Dave Brubeck - At

<p>to me, on your screenshot, the banner doesn't look like
something Amazon serves, but like a UI element of the browser, like
a sheet with no text or controls in it. Weird.</p>
<p>When I load your example page, however, I don't see this wite
banner. Do you get this in Safari, too? Do you get this with a
fresh Firefox profile?</p></div>Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/265250332013-04-24T03:28:38Z2013-04-24T03:28:38ZAmazon.com - opaque white banner at top of page appears<div><p>It doesn't happen in Safari nor in any other web browser, but I
think I've found the cause:</p>
<p>User Scripts: Linterna Magica 0.0.13-2</p>
<p>While I have this installed under Firefox on another machine
(where I was also testing out how well it it works) and it doesn't
cause this issue with amazon.com, it appears that at least under
TenFourFox 17.0.5 under OS X 10.4.11 (8S165) PPC, Linterna Magica
0.0.13-2 for Greasemonkey by Ivaylo Valkov causes a problem with
amazon.com, so I've disabled it in Add-ons Manager.</p>
<p>I'd previously gone through trying disabling each installed
extension in Add-ons Manager one at a time and rebooting, and was
about to do the same with the Appearance persona I had activated,
but hadn't looked under User Scripts (moral of the story: always
check your Greasemonkey scripts).</p>
<p>Thanks also for your quick reply, Chris - TenFourFox support
staff's quick responses put many other sites' support staff to
shame, including in terms of how timely they are :)</p></div>Martin A. I use Greasemonkey as well, and yes,
it can do weird things :-) I guess you could try to edit the script
yourself if you're experienced, or ask Ivaylo Valkov for assistance
if you absolutely need this script.</p></div>Chris (chtrusch)
