First, a polite request: please don't open multiple tickets for the same issue because it becomes hard to track replies. I have deleted your other ticket.

This error occurs when the browser tries to verify the secure certificate of the site you're accessing with an outside authority (called the OCSP server), and the response was out of date.

Before continuing, you should check that your computer's date and time are correct. If they are not, you may get this error. You can verify this in the top right of your screen (click the time to display the date). Fix this first if the clock is wrong (System Preferences, Date & Time). Even being a few minutes off can be enough.

If the clock is correct, next make sure your home network has not changed. This error can sometimes be triggered by someone altering the response you get over the network. If you are trying to connect with a public WiFi access point, for example, this could be a sign the connection is unsafe.

If the clock is correct and you are certain nothing has changed about your network, you will need to ask Microsoft about this problem; it cannot be corrected on your side in this version of TenFourFox.

Thank you Cameron. I will search online for the exact time and correct it if my clock is off. The WIFI problem cleared up after a phone call to local law enforcement. My WIFI provider said to call law enforcement as they did all they can to secure my WIFI from going out all the time via strengthening my codes. After posting a recent local news article online about the town selectmen removing public input at their meetings, my WIFI connection started going off and on, during the hours the Library was open that provides free WIFI for the Town. I explained that to law enforcement in a voice mail message, that I am asking the local library to install filters for porn (as the solution recommended by law) on their computers to make them safe for the public and children. The library board and the selectmen who appointed them are causing a lot of hoopla and news in my town over this and similar communications. I had circulated a flyer at a select board meeting about the filters and included my outlook email address so I wonder if someone tried to hack that email address so I can't access it. Thanks for clearing up your part of this story. Much appreciated.

Update: changed the clock to a couple seconds of being accurate. Error message the same. Talked w a Hotmail support person at Microsoft. Tried to bring up outlook several times from different approaches. Still got the error code, sometimes with Firefox sometimes not saying Firefox. I filled out sync w Firefox today. When the Firefox error message came up, then it would not bring up bing, google, yahoo, or any other search engine I use. Rebooted many times during this. I was still able to sign into my microsoft account, or et al everything there except outlook. The technician said to say the browser is not responding and can you trouble shoot this? They also recommended asking apple to help to. I will try again tomorrow and Monday w Apple and ten four fox. I have an appointment with a friend tomorrow on the phone as well who said they would try to help me. I am thinking that someone who is opposed to the flyer about having the local library install filters on their computers that I gave out at the select board meeting, which has my outlook email address on it, may have tried to hack my email. Then Outlook auto closed my email thinking or knowing it was being hacked. Who knows at this point. More anon.

First, please clarify: are you seeing this with TenFourFox, Firefox or both?

You also mention that other sites don't open. This strongly suggests something is going on with your network -- I'm suspecting your computer isn't actually the cause in this case. Unfortunately, I regret that's beyond my ability to diagnose here.

Thank you again. Great to hear you think its not my computer. That fits the story very well. I was just on twitter and my friend is going to help me - I just needed to see what you thought first. So I am going to try to allow my friend to remote control my computer and see if they can figure out what happened.... I'll let you know how that goes.

Hi again. Your Q: Am I seeing this w TenFourFox, FIrefox or both. I read around this. I can not download or use new versions of Firefox. I am using the Firefox that TenFourFox selected to support my mac G 5 w a 10.4.11 operating system to see this. I filled out the "sync" page on TenFourFox and that is why sometimes Firefox name shows up on the error messages. Today I can not sign in to Happy Patriot's Day. The library is closed today so I can not go there to see if my email will sign in on their computers. More Anon.

today i was able to sign into my email. I think my problem had to do, and still does have to do with how many windows are open at a time, and how many lights are on, especially halogens which I recently replaced and use for seed sprouting and I think that caused the wifi to go off too much. I also recently increased the speed of the wifi and I wonder if that is causing the wifi to go off too much.....Any way I did get to see my email today.
