TFF is slow as mud. Pages load slow, graphics load slow and there's
even a lag when inputting text.

I might just as well go back to Firefox at this rate.

Didn't have any serious problems with the previous version.

Any chance of improving this thing?

Thanks.

slobjonestag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/134481362012-02-05T08:07:54Z2012-02-05T08:30:42ZVersion 10 is slow as mud

Not the most constructive criticism I've read. Steps:

Close other programs (If you don't have copious RAM)

Ensure you have the proper build.

Test in safe mode.

Test with a new profile.

90000tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/134481362012-02-05T09:44:49Z2012-02-05T09:44:49ZVersion 10 is slow as mud

slobjones, thanks for your message. I use TenFourFox on three
PPC Macs ranging from 400 MHz G3 to 1333 MHz G4, and I haven't
experienced any of this.

In addition to the steps 90000 suggests, can you give me some
more information about your system (processor speed, RAM), and some
websites on which the problem seems especially bad? [I do know that
e.g. Facebook's Timeline is very demanding, but that's the same in
TFF 9.0.]

If TenFourFox gets extremely slow, you might want to check
Activity Monitor to see if there's another application that's
unresponsive and/or eating up your processor cycles.

Chris (chtrusch)tag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/134481362012-02-05T20:06:23Z2012-02-05T20:07:50ZVersion 10 is slow as mud

[Not the most constructive criticism I've read] Really. As if
it's my job to debug the browser for you. I'm not a programmer,
Sherlock. I'm a consumer. Get the difference?

[Close other programs] Brilliant suggestion. Thank you so much
for your helpful input.

Thank goodness the PPC community still has Safari.

slobjonestag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/134481362012-02-05T20:11:45Z2012-02-05T20:11:45ZVersion 10 is slow as mud

Given that the slowness appears to be completely pervasive, I
don't think we will find any particular way of improving it for
you. You can certainly use Firefox for as long as support lasts
(roughly until end-April), or Camino, which is the same engine.
There are some speed improvements in the pipeline for the next
iteration, but the nature of your report suggests that these will
not benefit you either. I suggest you leverage other browsers which
appear to meet your needs better while they are still available.
Good luck.

Cameron Kaiser
