After viewing written text, it doesn't remain in a different color.

When I go back to websites that I use often, I can't tell what I've already read. Any solutions?

Give us an example. Screenshots are helpful.

For example, the link below, oddly enough, is in pink, since I clicked on it.  But when going to other websites, any text on a forum for example, appears as if I had never read it, even if I had.

That behaviour is entirely site-dependent. Some sites define different colours for visited links, some don't.

However, you should make sure you are using them. In Preferences > Content, click Colors..., and make sure that Allow pages to choose their own colors is checked (or unchecked, as you prefer).

Thanks for your reply.  The box was already checked that allows pages to pick their own colors.  What is strange is that suddenly, text stopped appearing as being read.  Earlier, text that had been read did appear in a different color.  I didn't change anything in preferences, so I don't know what changed.

GReat browser by the way!  My 7 year old Mac has a new life it seems.
