Hotmail to Outlook

First of all, big thanks to the TenFourFoxI Team for still supporting Mac OS Tiger users and not letting us down like Apple or Firefox.

I am also using Hotmail, since many years, which will be soon converted to Outlook. Today, I've tried the "Outlook" settings with TenFourFox version 10.0.6 in my Hotmail account, but, unfortunately, some folder functions cannot be used, like attaching files etc. That's very annoying.

So, here is my question:

Can and will this issue be solved by future updates of TenFourFox? Is the team aware of this and working on it?

I am using a PowerMac G4 (PPC) with OS 10.4.11. Still running strong - except this Hotmail/Outlook issue.

Thanks

John

That's a Mozilla question, not a TenFourFox question. Whatever Firefox 10 supports, we support (and what it doesn't, we don't). Things like layout, DOM and content I don't touch unless I have a very good reason because it puts us out of sync with mainstream Firefox.

You could try TenFourFox 14 to see if it fixes the problem; if it does, this will become part of the stable branch in version 17. If it does not, this needs to be reported to Mozilla (not us) unless you can prove it works in Firefox but doesn't work here.

    Hi Cameron,

I appreciate your quick response and expert comments. Will try to get TenFourFox 14 as you recommended (didn't know it exists). When checking for updates I was told that version 10.0.6 was the latest one.

    Thanks for your support,

    John

    Hi Cameron,

I followed your advise and installed TFF 14 (7400) and all Hotmail/Outlook problems are solved.

I am very happy! Thanks a ton, you're a lifesaver!

    Hi Cameron,

Yesterday I accidentally quit TenFourFox (17.04 - 7400) with multiple tabs open, and I didn't receive any warning, it just quit. In my preferences menu, I had selected this option. Have a screenshot attached for you guys.

Tried the same thing again today - multiple tabs open - quit - everything was gone.

Besides that, everything works just like a charm. Thank you and your team again for this great software and support. Love it.

    F.Y.I.

    Best,

    John

For new problems please open a new ticket.

That said, this again is a Mozilla design decision. By default Firefox/TenFourFox saves your tabs and windows from before. Since quitting will restore them automatically, you don't get the warning in that case. (If you have it set to the built-in home page, you can also get it by clicking Restore Session.)

However, to prove to you the warning works, open a window and open two sites in two tabs. Close the window. The warning will appear, because the browser won't automatically restore the tabs in that case.

See http://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/942381 for more information (although this nominally involves an extension, the general case is true for Firefox 17+ and TenFourFox 17+).
