No URL input possible
hi @ all
i use(d) tenfourfox for my power pc. everything worked, but now, i cannot enter a url, which is not in my bookmark library. after 2 characters typed in, the url input field is empty. no chance to open a page which is not collected in the bookmark library.
i re-installed, then i updated to the newest version - problem can't be solved.
then the browser has a lot of problems to synchronise the bookmarks. (it appears a note at the bottom of the window).
so i re-use firefox. does anybody have an idea how to solve this problem?
I use mac os 10.5.8 / G5 ppc

This is almost certainly a profile problem, probably an incompatibility with the older version of Firefox you are using. Unfortunately, you will probably need to take a few steps to correct this, and it may make your profile no longer compatible with your old Firefox.
Note that it may not be possible to complete some of these steps if your profile is corrupted in a way that is still compatible with the old Firefox, but not compatible with TenFourFox. In that case, you may need to erase the Firefox folder in your home folder, under Library/Application Support. This should be considered a last resort, as you will lose everything.
Sorry, there is currently no automated solution in 10.x. In 17, there will be (and there is in 14 unstable, but I do not recommend the unstable version to most users).

thanks for information.
I deleted the whole FF account. Now it is working. But the sync. doesn't work properly. The note at the bottom is still appearing. Well, I can live with that. May passwords are complete again, but there must be a bug on FF side, because old bookmarks appear beside the newest... because all my other computers have this mess with the bookmarks. and I reduced some add-ons which are not compatible
well, we will see..
