next six weeks.

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/338633852014-07-24T02:37:24Z2014-07-24T02:37:24Zsluggish mouse scroll speed after updating to V31.0

Thanks for replying, Cameron. And thank you for all the work
you've done to support "vintage" Macs, including your Classilla
project which I used on my Wallstreets and TenFourFox which I
currently use on my G4 Powerbooks. I didn't mean to sound terse or
ungrateful in my post. I just wanted to keep it brief.

I should clarify something I just discovered about the scrolling
issue (I still have v.31 but am using 24.6): The "issue" only seems
relevant to the two-finger trackpad scrolling, which I use almost
exclusively. Since getting your note, I fired up v.31 and tried
other methods of scrolling -- space bar for page down, and dragging
the scroll bar -- and those work fine. So I guess it's just the
two-finger trackpad scrolling that got bunged up in v.31, at least
for me.

Cranking up the scroll speed in Prefs helps some but the
movement is still choppy. And turning it up sufficiently for use in
v.31 makes it way too fast to use in other apps.

I hope this may offer some further insight. I hate to think my
days are now numbered using TFF, which in turn will mean they're
numbered for the Powerbooks overall. But even if that turns out to
be the case, I by no means blame you. Without you and your team,
I'd have been forced to go Intel a long time ago.

Thank you again,

I too am experiencing the very slow two-finger scrolling with
the trackpad upon updating to v.31. I tried what you suggested to
Brett, and with my PowerBook G4 the scrolling is fine using a USB
mouse with scroll wheel (as is dragging the scrollbars or clicking
the scroll buttons using the trackpad or mouse). I've also tried
clearing the cache, creating a new profile, and restarting with
addons disabled; none of those helps. Two-finger scrolling in other
apps is fine.

likely relates to how scroll events are being processed and not to

test case working, since I need to replicate it on one of the
testing machines to evaluate it in more detail.

to scroll for you too?

Cameron Kaisertag:tenfourfox.tenderapp.com,2012-01-07:Comment/338633852014-07-25T00:37:52Z2014-07-25T00:37:52Zsluggish mouse scroll speed after updating to V31.0

I can confirm the two finger slow scrolling bug on a 12" 1.33Ghz

Sorry for the delay, Cameron. I'm glad to hear my observation
helped and that others have chimed in to confirm. I've just tried a
USB scroll mouse and have the same results to report as Eric and
Kevin. Scrolling is only a problem apparently with the trackpad.
I'm using a 15" Powerbook A1106 1.5 model.
