Hi, I'm trying to install TenFourFox, but it keeps crashing after trying to open (previous) tabs. It does give me an unresponsive script error, but even if I click to quit, the browser crashes shortly after (without actually opening any tabs). I tried starting a new session, but I still got the unresponsive script error. I'm working on a MacBook, OS 10.4.11 and I installed 7450. I did notice that at first, the browser automatically opened without my manually putting the download into the applications folder, but I tried manually putting it in the folder and that didn't help. I have 3.15 gb available and the only program I have open is Safari. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for you help!

Please note: TenFourFox isn't compiled for, nor supported on, Intel Macintoshes such as yours -- it is a PowerPC application intended for Power Macs.

That said, it is generally known to work, but you should not use the 7450 version -- the G3 version will work better on your machine. However, it will be slower than Firefox 3.6 was because it must translate code from PowerPC to the native Intel processor, and this may partially explain the unresponsive script errors you are getting. This will at least "get you by" -- there are other users in your situation who are using it successfully, if slowly.

Ultimately, you will have better luck upgrading your Mac to 10.6. Apple can help you with this through AppleCare; a nominal fee may apply. At that point you can run the actual Firefox, which should be a better fit for your Mac. 10.6 will still run most of your current software.
