Can't Download the latest update.
2006 model Dual 1.8 GHz Power PC G5, running OS X 10.5.8
Currently using Ten Four Fox 24.4.0
Constantly being reminded to update to the newer 24.5.0, but the
update never happens.
I have successfully updated Ten Four Fox for at least 2 years
now.......and at a new update every 2 to 10 weeks, thats a lot of
updates.
All the instructions etc for problems are written for IT experts
and nerds.........none of whom would be using an 8 yo superseded
computer running an outdated OS.
If the download procedures for the new Ten Four Fox version have
been changed, how about issuing instructions in English, so normal
people can follow them.
Or better still........make the procedures automatic when we click
on " DOWNLOAD"

Our update cycles pretty much correspond to Firefox ESR. If there's a security issue to fix and Firefox fixes it, we need to fix it, too, naturally.
For the update, go to the TenFourFox homepage at http://www.tenfourfox.com, scroll down and click "TenFourFox for G5 processors". The update procedure hasn't changed, the links to the latest stable version have always been on the page.
We'd like to make updates automatic, but we don't have the infrastructure right now. Remember, compared to Firefox, TenFourFox is a rather small community project. We do this in our spare time to keep your old Mac usable, and we don't charge you any money.
If you have a specific question about TenFourFox which isn't answered in the FAQ/release notes or which is sort-of unclear, I'll be glad to help.

When I click on the G5 update, I receive a new window trying to sell me The
Mackeeper software to clean my Mac.
Like most Macs, my Mac is pretty much self cleaning, but I do have the Disc
Utility installed just to make sure.
I use the Disc Utility every Monday, and so far it has only been needed on
2 occaisions.
About 5 to 10 seconds later, a receive a pop up offering me to download the
updated Ten Four Fox version as a Zip File ( coded).
What ever happens next........this file does not appear on my desk top, and
does not appear in my Downloads folder, either.........
I have started trolling through my entire Hard Drive hoping to find said
file.......but so far, I have found nothing.

Can you go to Preferences>General and have a look where the file is saved to? You can also specify to be asked every time where to save the file.

Thank you, Chris.......the coded Zip Files turned up in my Download File.
All 6 files I have tried to download ever since I started to receive the
notices to download the new version.

Great! I'll close this thread – if you have any more trouble downloading, just re-open.
